Marine Institute of Ireland – Technology that delivers a wow.

The Marine Institute of Ireland used a PufferSphere to bring data to life

Science communications specialist agency, Blue Inspiration, was tasked with creating an engaging, interactive exhibition to showcase the Marine Institute of Ireland’s work and achievements. The goal was to identify a technology that delivers a wow factor and provides an intuitive understanding of the importance and scope of modern oceanography. With tactile engagement a key focus for marine science educators, it was imperative that the installation was suitable for a wide audience.

The PufferTouch, the world’s leading touch-enabled spherical display, offered the ideal balance of scale and presence for the customer, with the ability to deliver engaging content in a powerful way. Interactivity was added through a touch interface, engaging audiences in a more meaningful way. In addition to the core sphere, we supplied a secondary touch screen to be used with the PufferTouch in conjunction with our market-leading software.

Our solution allowed visitors to select from a series of related topics and see easily-digestible, and highly engaging data visualisations on the PufferTouch. This was reinforced with stunning visual content and explanatory text on the separate interactive screen, which really delivers a wow.

Pufferfish technology delivers a wow in Ireland

Through the PufferTouch, the Marine Institute told the story of their important work – including around research and policy. Working together, we helped them engage stakeholders and offer a hands-on way of helping people to understand the importance of our marine environments.

The Pufferfish team were incredibly easy to deal with. They answered all our technical and non-technical questions, managed expectations, and delivered the key piece of our exhibition within a very tight timeframe, and with ultimate professionalism. We were so impressed with the product and the service received that we ordered a second system. We could not recommend Pufferfish highly enough.Blue Inspiration, on behalf of the Marine Institute of Ireland
